Middle School: Save Rafe by James Patterson

Middle School: Save Rafe by James Patterson is a great story for people who like realistic fiction. Rafe was at a school in the city, but the school is now closing. So he has to try to get back into his old school. He got kicked out of the old school because he doesn’t follow the rules. He has to go to this camp. In the camp it is really hard to pass. If he passes he will get back into the school. When he goes to talk to the principal he realizes that the old principal retired and the rude secretary is now the new principal. Plus, her sister is now the secretary. Her sister is also rude. Rafe’s luck is bad. So if you want to know more, then go read the book. If you don’t believe me, then read all the other books in the series. Just see how bad Rafe’s luck really is.                                                                           

Middle School: Save Rafe reminded me of the book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid because in that book a kid named Greg also has very bad luck. It is a series just like Middle School. I think that both books are very good.

You Only Die Twice by Dan Gutman

If you like adventurous fiction you will love this book! This book can be scary and exciting. You Only Die Twice by Dan Gutman is a book about the main characters, Coke and Pepsi. They travel in an RV around the world for their summer vacation. The problem is Mr. Warsaw (their enemy) is getting married to Coke and Pepsi’s aunt.  Mr. Warsaw wants to get revenge on the kids by killing them, but the kids brought bombs and weapons to defend themselves. Mr. Warsaw disguises himself so he can fit in and the kids can’t see who he is.  I think the author’s message in the book is to never give up and always follow your dreams.  This book reminds me of Malala and when she never gave up on her dream of going to school. Why do you think they call it ``You Only Die Twice’’?  Well, if you want to know, you have to read the book.

Out From Boneville by Jeff Smith

Out From Boneville is book one of the Bone series by Jeff Smith.  It is a great graphic novel book for children in elementary school.  The characters are Fone bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone.  The three cousins get separated in a desert by a swarm of Locust in book one Out From Bonesville.  The series is funny and adventurous and at the end of each book, the author leaves you in suspense to read the next in the series.  If you like humorous books you would love Bone.

Bone: Out from Boneville is from a very interesting series, written and drawn by Jeff Smith.  The three cousins, Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone are run out of town and lost in a desert.  Then  they are separated by a swarm of locusts and get lost in a forest.  Fone Bone soon makes a few friends, while Phoney Bone, Smiley Bone, and himself, are being hunted.  Will the three Bone cousins unite?  Or will they never see each other again?  I would recommend this book if you like a good laugh or adventure.

Middle School, Get Me Out of Here, by James Patterson

If you like books that are funny, sad or exciting, try out the book Middle School, Get Me Out of Here, by James Patterson!  Your main characters in the story are Rafe and Leo.  Leo is Rafe’s brother that died at birth, but helps him with Get Me Out of Here.  Rafe and his family move to the city and his life kind of changes.  This lead to Rafe getting transferred into an art school where he finds a friend named Matty, but makes enemies too.  If you want find out how it really began, read James Patterson’s first book Middle School, the Worst Years of My Life!  I would definitely recommend this book and the first one!

Crispin at the Edge of the World by Avi

Crispin at the Edge of the World by Avi is about a boy named Crispin and a man named Bear who are being chased by the town government. When they are in their travels, they meet a young girl named Troth. Troth lives with an old lady in the woods. After the old lady is beaten to death, Troth, Crispin, and Bear head off to a faraway place .The book is sad and adventurous. This book is good for anybody who wants a sad but adventurous story.

Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli

Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli is an amazing story about a little boy who loses his way.  This is an adventurous and exciting book.  This boy loses his mother and father in a train accident.  The boy’s name is Jeffery Lionel Magee, but people call him Maniac.  His Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan take him in but they are always fighting.  Maniac ends up running away because he’s sick and tired of them bickering.  On Maniac’s wild running journey he runs into the east end where he meets Amanda Beale a girl who loves books.  Amanda brings Maniac home one night to have dinner and her family loves him.  When Amanda’s father tries to bring Maniac to his own home, Amanda’s family ends up finding out Maniac doesn’t have a home.  Their family decides to take him in because they feel bad he lost all the family he had.  At many points in this book Maniac changes households.  Will he find out where he belongs in life? You will have to read the book to find out more.  I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who wants to read an adventurous story.

A Long Way from Chicago by Richard Peck

A Long Way from Chicago by Richard Peck is an excellent book.  It’s all about two children going to an Illinois town and visiting their grandmother.  They end up doing some crazy things.  For example, when Mary Alice, Joey, and their grandmother trespass into a field and end up seeing the sheriff in his underwear.  Sometimes I go to my grandmother’s house, but we don’t do much.  If you like books that have adventurous stories you should read this one.   I would recommend this book.
