As
Simple as it Seems might sound like a boring
book but I promise that it's not. The
author, Sarah Weeks, wrote a realistic fiction book to try and relate to real
life. The main characters, Verbeana and
Pooch become best friends. Pooch runs
into Verbeana at Bonners Lake and thinks that she is the ghost of Tracy Allen. Verbeana decides to go along with Pooch. At home, Verbeana finds out that her biological
mother is an alcoholic, which is the reason she is so small. She also finds out that her biological father is
in jail for killing a man with his bare hands. When Verbeana finds out what her biological
parents were like, she becomes a totally different person and thinks that she
is cruel and mean. The theme of the book
is to be yourself and let the nice of you shine through. At the lake, Pooch and Verbeana fix up a boat.
Once they fix it up, they decide to go
into the lake but keep a rope tied to a tree so they don’t go far. The rope unties but you are going to have to
find out what happens next when you read the book. If you like emotional stories, I recommend
this one. I hope that you enjoyed this
book as much as I did! The characters
found out that sometimes, life isn’t as
simple as it seems!
