Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

In the book Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, Nora Grey's life is far from perfect. Nora had an attempt on her life yet survived which wasn’t a pleasant thing to go through. She had gained a guardian angel, but sadly her guardian angel was far from angelic, matter of fact quite devil-ish. The guardian angel named Patch had been given a second chance with life, while still not being human or being able to be seen. I personally believe that this book is good for most ages above 9-10 while it all depends on your mental age and how well you can take 18+ themes or themes of violence. Other than that, it’s truly an amazing book.

I can relate with the character Nora Grey, as I believe she would be a great friend who wouldn’t talk about someone behind their back unless given a good reason, which I believe is outstanding friend material. This book would be the romance and horror category of books, although it rarely states anything truly in the horror category, even though there is gore and topics of such. Some parts of the book remind me of a few of the goosebumps series.

Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Dorky Drama Queen by Rachel Renee Russel

Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Dorky Drama Queen by Rachel Renee Russel is a great book!!  Why, do you ask? Well Dork Diaries is a teen event book and it has events that you might have experienced or made connections with before. It would make a fantastic movie in my opinion. but if you go on the author’s page they have a podcast.

You might have a connection with this book that you might have experienced too because the girl in this book Nikki, is being bullied by this girl Mckenzie. You might have experienced getting bullied and you would make a connection with this book. You might have ups and downs like Nikki too.

The title describes it because it is a teen Diary and that teen is Nikki. Nikki has a lot of crazy events in her life but it all makes it worth it in the end. This book will remind you of a regular teen movie.  This book kind of connects to me because once my diary was taken but it wasn't from my bully, it was from my sister!

I would recommend this book because there's so much drama in Nikki's life you won't believe it, but in this typical book NIKKI GETS HER DIARY TAKEN AWAY AND EXPOSED! Look at the rest of the series and find out more about Nikki’s life!

Smile by Raina Telgemeier

Smile by Raina Telgemeier is a book about a young girl named Raina. She takes a great fall and her two front teeth fall out. She ends up having to get braces, a retainer, and headgear. She gets her braces and ends up getting made fun of so then she doesn't want to go to school. After she gets made fun of, she ends up getting a retainer that makes her look like she has normal teeth again. She likes it a lot more because she looks normal and she can eat. Raina also likes this guy named Sam. He was in 6th grade when she was in 7th. And after that she gets made fun of for liking a 6th grader. There was so much going on. This is why I liked this book.
The reason I liked this book was because I have to get braces myself in like 2 months. This book is a good book to me because it had a very interesting ending and beginning. I also liked this book because Raina has a younger sister and she is always fighting with her. She always has an opinion on everything and her sister gets mad a lot. This was a great book to review. Smile by Raina Telgemeier is a really good book. My favorite part was when Raina got to have all her teeth back. Raina was running, then she trips and loses her 2 front teeth. She goes through a lot of trouble trying to learn how to live without 2 front teeth. She goes through headgear, braces and even fake teeth, and a lot of visits to the dentist. Then at the end of the book, she gets to have her 2 front teeth back. Even though they’re fake, it looks like they're real. For the first time in a long time she finally likes her teeth. The reason why Smile is one of my favorite books is because it reminds me of my favorite movie which is Zootopia. Smile teaches a lesson, it doesn't matter what other people say or think. Smile is also just a really good book. I love how much detail is in it and I loved reading it. It makes you want to read more and more. Smile is just a wonderful book and I really think you should read it, but just warning you, it's a really good book.

The book I will review for the blog is Smile by Raina Telgemeier. Raina lost her front teeth after girl scouts. She’s sad because it hurt and she’s embarrassed. She gets teeth pulled down, but they’re only half way, so it looks like they are still growing in. Read the book to find out what happens next. I like this book because I’m going to have to get braces soon. I have also lost three teeth and they haven’t grown in yet. This is a graphic novel with colorful pictures. They are also funny. The book Smile by Raina Telgemeier is about Raina. Raina has a bad accident and damages her two front teeth. She has to live through middle school, being bullied by her friends because of her teeth. But in high school she stands up for herself and makes a new friend.  Raina has so much drama going through her life. Will she resolve it all?

I can relate to this book because it reminds me of trying to fit in and getting along with your friends. I really liked this book because it was funny and sad but amazing. I liked the part when Raina stood up for herself when her friends were bullying her. It made me feel happy when I read it. That is why I like it so much.

Forgive My Fins, by Tera Lynn Childs

Forgive My Fins, by Tera Lynn Childs, is a book about a girl named Lily who has a huge crush on a swimmer named Brody, but something happens and now she’s stuck with Quince.  Lily is a mermaid, the princess of Thasslainia.  In this book, a mermaid can’t have a boyfriend then break up with him for no reason.  They have to go through a long separating routine that might not even work. The story takes place at school and in the ocean.  When I was little I used to pretend I was a mermaid when I was in the pool.  I think this book is funny and exciting.  When I first started the book I didn't really like it, but once I got to the middle of the book I loved it!  I would totally recommend this book to anyone who might like mermaids or drama.
