Cilla Lee Jenkins, Future Author Extraordinaire by Susan Tan

Cilla Lee Jenkins, Future Author Extraordinaire by Susan Tan  is about a girl named Priscilla who is half Chinese and half American.  She is soon expecting a baby sister.  She doesn't want a sister because she thinks that her parents won’t pay attention to her anymore.  Her best friend is named Colleen, but they got into a fight.  Cilla’s favorite book is called Selena Moon And The Moonstone.  When it’s Cilla’s birthday she gets a very cool gift and everyone puts their hand print on it, but Cilla saves one section for her sister.  When her baby sister is born Cilla loves her even though she thought she wouldn’t.

I love this book! It reminds me of me and my brother because we didn’t want a little sister. Now we have one, but she’s not so little anymore, and we love her.  In the book the same thing happens. I’ve read this book 4 times and I still love it.  I can’t wait to get the second and third!  Maybe when MY sister learns to read she can read it for herself.  This is by far one of my favorite books.  If you like to read, write, and have fun, then I think this is the perfect book for you!

The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies

The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies, was about a girl named Jessie and her brother Evan who had a Lemonade War. They had an argument because Evan wouldn’t play with Jessie any more and they agreed to have a Lemonade War. Who ever came up with a hundred dollars or more would win and get the loser's money. So they both had a lemonade stand with their friends, but they added some things to their lemonade stands, like face painting so they could get more money. Then, Evan stole his sister's money, because he knew he was going to lose. He accidently loses the money at his friend’s house. Do you think he is going to tell Jessie? Who do you think will win now?
I really liked this book. I just couldn’t keep my eyes off it. I really loved how there were a lot of cliffhangers, but I would appreciate if the story was told from Jesse's point of view or Evan’s point of view. The Lemonade War really reminded me of when I saw this movie of when two neighbors had a war on who had the best christmas lights.

Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Insurgent is the second book in the Divergent series.  It is a fun and exciting book!  If you ever read the Twilight saga or the Hunger Games series, you would love this book.  Tris is an amazing girl, no matter what the circumstances are she will do what’s right.  At one part Tris secretly disobeyed Four to save what is left of her parents past.  As she is going to the place she slips on a ladder she put between two buildings.  Does she fall? Does she stop Four, or will she be too late?  Veronica Roth, the author, did an amazing job of describing what is happening.  You can see it in your mind like a movie.  You can see what’s happening as Tris’s brother is in jail and Four comes to get him and Tris’s brother hits Four with a metal chair and runs.  It was bad timing.  So if you like action books, this book will be great for you.
