Movie For Dogs by Lois Duncan

In Movie For Dogs by Lois Duncan, Andi wrote a book to Pet Press to enter a contest. She won second place, but Jerry Gordon, her nemesis, won first place.  Andi was furious. Soon, there was another contest for a short movie about dogs and she was going to help her brother win. Their movie made it to the final three and they went to Hollywood to talk about their movie. What will happen next? Will they win? Did Jerry Gordon enter this contest too? You’ll have to read it to find out.

Wow! I think Movie for Dogs was amazing and so much fun to read. At the end of every chapter it was like a new beginning to the story. This book reminds of when I entered a contest. I didn’t win and I was a little sad. This book is realistic fiction. Movie for Dogs was a book where you don’t want to put it down. I loved it.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl is about a young boy Charlie, whose family is very poor. Charlie walks by Willy Wonka's chocolate factory every day to get to school. Willy Wonka had a contest of five golden tickets hidden in his chocolate bars. Everyone wanted to win the lucky golden ticket, but only four people won. The winners who get a golden ticket will get a tour of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. There might even be a surprise in the chocolate factory. Did Charlie get lucky and win a golden ticket?
I loved how the author made a book about a chocolate factory, and how the surroundings made the book more interesting to read. Personally I am a fan of chocolate, which made the book more relatable in my opinion. I also loved that the author made images of candy and chocolate in my mind. I love to read fiction books, especially one that's relatable for me.

Do you like fiction books?  Do you know the author Roald Dahl?  If so, you’ll probably know the book called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This book is about a boy named Charlie who lives with a poor family.  Charlie lives in a city with a chocolate factory owned by Mr. Wonka.  When Charlie was young, the factory closed.  The factory reopens, and Mr. Wonka gave out Golden Tickets.  Golden Tickets are used for admission for a factory tour.  Charlie was one of the people who got the ticket, and so does four other people.  Soon the people that had Golden Tickets were given a tour.  Four kids however did what they’re not supposed to do.  The kids were sent home, but in a miserable way.  The characters are Mr. Wonka, Charlie, and Grandpa Joe (he took Charlie to the factory). There is more, but you’ll have to read the actual book!  The book is exciting.  When I read it, Charlie is going inside the factory and I don’t know what will happen.  I have a text to world connection, and it is to never do things you shouldn’t be doing.  If we hadn’t, the world would just be peaceful.  I guarantee this book will make you excited and laugh.

I Funny is written by James Patterson.  This book is about a kid in a wheelchair and he wants to be a comedian.  So he takes lessons.  At school he tried  to make people laugh.  They like his jokes.  One of his friends says, "You should join the world’s funniest kid in the world".  The only problem is, he was not that funny.  He practiced for weeks and made up new jokes. Then the day came.  He rushed there, it was starting in a half hour.  He felt sad because none of his friends came to cheer him on.  He still had to go up on stage.  Then it started.  He was the third person up.  Then his turn came…

I funny is by James Patterson.  You should read this book because it is about a kid and his name is Jamie Grimm.  He is in junior high school and he is in a wheelchair.  He loves to tell jokes, so he enters a joke competition.  Read to find out if he wins.  I think the author's message is that you shouldn't judge people by their looks.

I Funny, by James Patterson, is a great realistic fiction book. I funny, is about a boy named Jamie Grimm, and he is hilarious! He tells jokes at school, his uncle’s diner, and even at the boardwalk. Then one day at his Uncle's diner, he sees an ad in the paper about a comedy contest in Long Beach. Everyone is trying to persuade him to enter it, but he just won’t. This book is very humorous and has a little bit of romance. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book if you’re in for a good laugh!
