Army Delta Force by Carlos Alvarez

The book, Army Delta Force by Carlos Alvarez, tells you about the guns they use in the army. It also explains where the soldiers are most commonly deployed, and what kind of missions they go on. Sometimes it also tells you what equipment they use and how they use it.

I like this book because it gives you fun information and it is also interesting to know what kind of weapons, and equipment  the army uses. I also think anyone who likes or wants to go into the military will enjoy this book and the other books that are just like it, such as Night Stalkers, Marine Expeditionary Units, and Army Rangers.

Riley Mack by Chris Grabenstein

Have you ever got in trouble for helping people? Riley Mack by Chris Grabenstein, is about a fifth grader who helps those who are in need of help. A kid named Jamal gets bullied a lot in school by a sixth grader named Gavin Brown, but Gavin Brown’s father is the sheriff of the town. So when his dad is in the army in Afghanistan, he has to be a man and help others who are in need, alone with his friends, and no adults.

I like this book because I can relate to it. Grownups do not listen to me at times, they never believe me. I try to help people, but normally succeed.

The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg by Rodman Philbrick

The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg by Rodman Philbrick was an exciting book to read. This historical fiction book will definitely appeal to students who love adventure and are war buffs. Philbrick writes a lively tale about Homer, whose older brother Harold is illegally sworn into the Union Army by their crabby Uncle. Homer runs away to find his brother and bring him home. I really like Homer's personality. He is quite the storyteller and it's funny when he misleads the adults he encounters on his quest. As entertaining as this book was, it actually takes the Civil War battle scenes to an intense level. Be prepared to have your heart gallop along for the ride!
