The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King

In the Kingdom of Delain Peter is soon to become king with his father soon to be dead and Peter as the eldest child, or will his destiny be ruined by the castle magician who will do anything to make the younger son Thomas king? Will the magician even frame someone for murder? Read The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King to find out.
My thoughts on the book are that the book has a very well written plot and that the book itself is well written. My favorite character in the book is Peter mostly because he is so smart and daring at the same time. Then another reason why I like this book is because it has a lot of funny moments. One funny moment that I liked was when Peter beat up the prison guard with ease.
My connection with the book is my relationship with my younger brother. Mostly because me and my little brother are really close as brothers. Another connection with the book is I remember climbing up and down a rope for the first time, because in the book Peter tries to escape prison on a rope.

When the Game Was Ours by Larry Bird and Earvin Magic Johnson

In the book When the Game Was Ours by Larry Bird and Earvin Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson are in high school. They are both dominating on the basketball  court. Then they go to college and play on the best teams. They are both rivals. Finally they get drafted to the NBA. In the book they are ruling there too, but when they face each other in the championship it goes all the way to game seven. Read to find out whose team wins.
I thought the book was very good at explaining what happened in the careers of Larry and Magic, with their injuries and stats. It was very interesting. I learned so much about the teams and those two players, but I learned about many other players too. I thought the book was great and very descriptive. I would recommend reading it to anyone who likes sports.

Soar by Joan Bauer

Soar by Joan Bauer is a wonderful book! Soar is about a boy named Jeremiah who has a heart problem. He and his father have to move to Ohio because of a job Walt, his father, has to do. Jeremiah is a big baseball fan, but when something bad happens to one of the players on the town's baseball team, the town starts to die down. Jeremiah is very disappointed about this. He wants to do something about it, but what can he do?

I have an opinion on this book. I love it! It’s a wonderful book and I would recommend it! I like this book because it’s meaningful, and it’s fun. I would recommend this book to someone who likes baseball. This book is a wonderful book, but this is just my opinion. If you want to get a real opinion, read it for yourself!

Prisoner Of War, by Michael Spradlin

In this book called Prisoner Of War, by Michael Spradlin, there are many problems that occur. This book is about a boy named Henry Forrest. Henry Forrest’s mother died when he was seven years old, and his father drastically changed. Henry’s father started drinking and taking out all his anger on poor Henry. Henry’s grandpa tried stopping his father, but there was no stopping it. Once Henry turned fifteen, he decided he wanted to join the Marines. Henry’s grandfather didn’t approve, but he went along with it. Henry drove, and drove, and he signed up to join the Marines. But he had no idea what was awaiting.

In my opinion, this is honestly the best book I have ever read. It makes you feel exactly what the characters are feeling. When you read this book, you will be drawn into a war-zone. This book is sad and happy at the end; it left me in tears. This is the most meaningful book. You will feel relieved at the end. I definitely recommend it.

Hoop Girlz by Lucy Jane Bledsoe

In Hoop Girlz by Lucy Jane Bledsoe, River is obsessed with basketball. She would love to be in the WNBA when she grows up. One day River decides to tryout for the school team. River is heartbroken when she finds out that she does not make the A-team, but her best friend, Kammie did. The coach tells River she has potential and she is put on the B-team. The B-team is certainly inferior to the A-team until River’s brother becomes the coach of it. Later on, The A-team and the B-team play against each other in a tournament. Will the B-team win? Will River win MVP of the tournament? Read the book to find out!

I really enjoyed this book because of how River dealt with not making it on the A-team.  It really was a tragedy to her and she totally dealt with the situation in a calm, mature manner.  I can relate to this story because there are teams that I have tried out for that I did not make, and like River, It only made me try harder for the next time.

Army Delta Force by Carlos Alvarez

The book, Army Delta Force by Carlos Alvarez, tells you about the guns they use in the army. It also explains where the soldiers are most commonly deployed, and what kind of missions they go on. Sometimes it also tells you what equipment they use and how they use it.

I like this book because it gives you fun information and it is also interesting to know what kind of weapons, and equipment  the army uses. I also think anyone who likes or wants to go into the military will enjoy this book and the other books that are just like it, such as Night Stalkers, Marine Expeditionary Units, and Army Rangers.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling, it is Harry Potter’s fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and it is an exciting yet scary year. He has been seeing things in his sleep and his scar has been hurting at certain times, which means Voldemort is mad or near. Hermione, Ron and some other students at Hogwarts want to learn Defence Against the Dark Arts just in case he comes back. The only problem is that the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher Professor Umbridge banned any sort of group or club without her permission. Will they get caught and possibly get expelled or will everything be okay? Will Voldemort return? Find out in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
I enjoyed this book very much. It is a longer book, but it was interesting the whole way through. I had so many feelings throughout the whole book. At some points I was happy others I was angry or upset. I liked the book because of the fantasy. There are many things in it that could not happen in real life. I think that this is cool. This is one of the things that makes me want to read more.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is based in the future when people live in trailers stacked on top of one another and virtual reality, which is called OASIS is what everyone uses to communicate and be social. They even use OASIS to go to school, level up their character, battle other players and more. When the creator of OASIS made this virtual reality he made millions. But when he dies, his money and everything he owned will go to the person who found the easter egg hidden in the game. When this information went out, there was a company who had wanted this virtual reality for themselves for a long time called IOI Innovative Online Industries. Who will find the easter egg! Will someone find it? Read more to find out!

I like this book because it has a lot of action.  To follow along you need to have a good mind because this book is a little hard to follow. That is what I like about this book. I relate to this book because I am like the main character Wade Owen Watts, and I want to find the easter egg (at the end of the book). I also like video games a lot so that is also how it sort of relates to me.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

The book The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne is about a little boy named Bruno who lives in Berlin. He has a very happy life with his mother, father, sister, grandmother, and grandfather. But then his perfect life turned upside down. His father is a very important person in World World II, so he and his family had to move to a new place which was right next to a Concentration Camp. Bruno meets a little boy who is on the other side of the fence and Bruno is very confused why he is there.

Something that I loved about this book is the random illustrations of the camp and Bruno doing things in his new house. My favorite thing to read about is World War II. I did have a problem with the book though. I don’t like the ending because it’s a cliff-hanger, and they didn’t make another book to explain the ending.

Smile by Raina Telgemeier

Smile by Raina Telgemeier is a book about a young girl named Raina. She takes a great fall and her two front teeth fall out. She ends up having to get braces, a retainer, and headgear. She gets her braces and ends up getting made fun of so then she doesn't want to go to school. After she gets made fun of, she ends up getting a retainer that makes her look like she has normal teeth again. She likes it a lot more because she looks normal and she can eat. Raina also likes this guy named Sam. He was in 6th grade when she was in 7th. And after that she gets made fun of for liking a 6th grader. There was so much going on. This is why I liked this book.
The reason I liked this book was because I have to get braces myself in like 2 months. This book is a good book to me because it had a very interesting ending and beginning. I also liked this book because Raina has a younger sister and she is always fighting with her. She always has an opinion on everything and her sister gets mad a lot. This was a great book to review. By;Irish_99_tik tok

Smile by Raina Telgemeier is a really good book. My favorite part was when Raina got to have all her teeth back. Raina was running, then she trips and loses her 2 front teeth. She goes through a lot of trouble trying to learn how to live without 2 front teeth. She goes through headgear, braces and even fake teeth, and a lot of visits to the dentist. Then at the end of the book, she gets to have her 2 front teeth back. Even though they’re fake, it looks like they're real. For the first time in a long time she finally likes her teeth. The reason why Smile is one of my favorite books is because it reminds me of my favorite movie which is Zootopia. Smile teaches a lesson, it doesn't matter what other people say or think. Smile is also just a really good book. I love how much detail is in it and I loved reading it. It makes you want to read more and more. Smile is just a wonderful book and I really think you should read it, but just warning you, it's a really good book.

The book I will review for the blog is Smile by Raina Telgemeier. Raina lost her front teeth after girl scouts. She’s sad because it hurt and she’s embarrassed. She gets teeth pulled down, but they’re only half way, so it looks like they are still growing in. Read the book to find out what happens next. I like this book because I’m going to have to get braces soon. I have also lost three teeth and they haven’t grown in yet. This is a graphic novel with colorful pictures. They are also funny. Review by KatoJuneBugs

The book Smile by Raina Telgemeier is about Raina. Raina has a bad accident and damages her two front teeth. She has to live through middle school, being bullied by her friends because of her teeth. But in high school she stands up for herself and makes a new friend.  Raina has so much drama going through her life. Will she resolve it all?

I can relate to this book because it reminds me of trying to fit in and getting along with your friends. I really liked this book because it was funny and sad but amazing. I liked the part when Raina stood up for herself when her friends were bullying her. It made me feel happy when I read it. That is why I like it so much.

When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

The book When You Reach Me is written by Rebecca Stead. In this book the main characters are Miranda and Sal. One day they are walking home from school and something happens to Sal. All of a sudden Miranda starts getting mysterious notes. but at the same time Sal is giving her the silent treatment and won't talk to her. Will Miranda get her best friend Sal back?

My favorite part of the book was when Miranda started to get the notes. That's when the book started to get very interesting. This book has lots of cliffhangers.  This book was very interesting. This is the only book that did that. If you love mystery books then you should definitely read it!  I definitely recommend you ead this book. This book reminds me of when I was texting my friend and it didn't make sense. Then your friend doesn't text you back and leaves you on a cliffhanger.

The Lemonade Crime by Jacqueline Davies

The Lemonade Crime by Jacqueline Davies takes place at a school. A boy named Scott got a new Xbox 20/20 over the Summer. Another boy named Evan lost $200 over the summer. Evan wonders where Scott got the money to buy the Xbox 20/20. Evan tells his bossy little sister how he thinks Scott stole his money and his sister brings Scott to “Child court.” Who is lying? Did Scott actually steal the money?
I love how the author creates suspense by introducing a lot of new conflicts. The suspense made me never want to put the book down. This book reminds me of when I used to watch Judge Judy with my family. It reminds me of that because the children go to fake court just like Judge Judy goes to real court.

Spy School: Secret Service by Stuart Gibbs

Spy School: Secret Service is another great book by Stuart Gibbs. It is currently the last of the spy school series. It started off with Ben yet again on another mission. But this time it was more pressure than ever...he has to save the president from Spyder. Will he succeed yet again or will he go down with the president?

I absolutely loved this book and every time I read one in the series, I can't wait for the next one. I hope Stuart Gibbs makes many, many more Spy School books. Though before reading this one you should probably read the others in the series first: Spy School, Spy Camp, Evil Spy School, and Ski Spy school. In that order. You should also read his other series: the Funjungle series, the Three Musketeers series and the Moon Base Alpha series. I hope you read and like the book.

The Land of Stories- Worlds Collide by Christopher Colfer

In The Land of Stories: Worlds Collide by Christopher Colfer, Alex and Conner have constructed an army to defeat all of the literary characters of their childhood, lead by Captain Hook, The Wicked Witch of the West, and The Queen of Hearts. Right as they were heading off to defeat the army, Alex went missing. When Conner finds Alex, she is under an evil spell. Will Conner save Alex or will he be defeated?

I loved how the author painted a vivid image in my mind when I read this book. It all came together no matter how many cliff hangers or how many mysteries there were. When you read this book you will be swept away to a fairy-tale land where danger and magic are in the air. When I was little and still to this day I love fairy tales! This book made me feel happy, scared, and sad all at the same time. If you love fairy tales definitely read this book! I definitely recommend this book and series! Hope you read it!
