Dog Man: Mothering Heights by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man: Mothering Heights by Dav Pilkey is about Dog Man, who has to go through the troubles of having a cone on his head. Lil’ Petey who keeps trying to keep Petey on his good side. As well as Petey who is trying to be on tv without any interruptions. All in all, all the characters have their own problems that they’re all going through.

I think that this book is really funny, has a lot of action and is easy for anyone to read. Although I do suggest that you should read all the other dog man books before you read this one. I really like this graphic novel series and I believe it is the best.

Junie B. Jones Smells Something Fishy by Barbara Park is about Junie B. Jones when she gets stuck on Pet Day with no dogs allowed! But that’s the only kind of pet Junie B. has! Read the book to find out what crazy stuff Junie B. does to try and get a pet to school! Also, she tries to keep her grandma’s fish she had caught at a lake. When Junie B. tries to take the fish to school UH-OH! She luckily found a pet, a surprise in front of her eyes. This book is a mix of fiction and fantasy, and of course Junie B. is my favorite character because she adds a lot of humor and action to the story. My favorite event of the book is when Junie B. finds out there is Pet Day and her face starts to become angry, because she only had a dog. The genre is realistic fiction.

This book is absolutely amazing and super funny. Unlike other Junie B. Jones’ books, this is the only ideal book that features any animals. I would recommend this book because it always makes me break out in tears. When I read this book for the first time, it reminded me of when I was 5, my preschool also had a Pet Day, and I also did not have a pet just like Junie B. So, I had to make a yellow snake out of clay and brought some ants in a jar. I was pretty proud of myself that day. But, I laugh at the silly memory now. This book mostly reminds me of my childhood and my early first grade year. I absolutely LOVE these books SO much. When my mom tells me to read something else, I say,”I love these books, I'm going to read them.” My mom doesn’t mind, and lets me read them. I also love the few pictures, because they show the main events. These are a few reasons I would recommend this book.

Diary of the Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown

Diary of the Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown by Jeff Kinney Is a book about a boy named Greg Heffley who's trying to survive winter time. He is also trying to make it through middle school when he has a huge snowball fight with the kids on the flat part of the street because the kids who live on the hill of the street caught them trying to sled down the hill. They basically have a world war. Who wins? It was very close, but you have to read to find out.

In my opinion Diary of the Wimpy kid is one of the greatest book series of all time. I’ve read the whole book series and it is brilliant. It is comical, suspenseful, and awesome.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Deep End

The Deep End is an amazing edition to the Diary of Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. My favorite scene is where Gregory the main character has to hide from this kid who told the park ranger that Gregory made a mess at the condiment section, so he dives in the pool and holds his breath until everyone rushes out of the pool because- {Spoilers}. It adds a lot of suspense which is a great example of how beautifully written this book is. This book is mainly about a trip that Greg and his family went on, which has many exciting moments.  Its tone is just like what a middle schooler would write, but it is fiction even though it seems real.

This funny book reminds me of the time I went to NH with my dad and crazy stuff happened to us{Which is also where I read this book}. This is the 15th book from the series, which shows how much people love this series. This is so far my favorite book in this wonderful book series from Jeff Kinney. I 100% recommend this book to all ages and everyone.

Allergic by Megan Wagner Lloyd and illustrated by Michelle Mee Nutter

Allergic by Megan Wagner Lloyd is a good book about allergies. By the cover, you can tell that she gets a dog in the story but is allergic to it. Also, she is annoyed that her parents are preparing for a baby. The main character's name is Maggie. Maggie and I are the same because we both have different allergies. We also are the same because we both have siblings . She has 2, soon to be 3 siblings, but I only have 1 sibling.

I like this book because it is realistic fiction. I also like this book because it is a Graphic Novel and it has good pictures and details. You should go read Allergic.

Return of the Vampire, by Geronimo Stilton

The book I will review for the blog is Return of the Vampire, by Geronimo Stilton. I like this book because it is funny in some parts. In this book Creepella Von CackleFur, her niece, and Geronimo Stilton have to go to this hotel. Then something happens, a vampire shows up. And he asks for help. Do you think that they will help the vampire? I also like this book because Geronimo Stilton is a good author and it reminds me of my childhood when I was a little kid.

The Enchanted Charms by Geronimo Stilton

The Enchanted Charms by Geronimo Stilton is a very cool book about MAGIC and GIANTS and MICE and even MONSTERS! The book is about a mouse that goes and tries to get these charms that are all in different parts of the world. When he gets them...  well I shouldn’t tell you because that's the ending of  the book but you can read it and figure that out for yourself.

This book relates to me because the mouse and the mouse's cousin are funny and a lot of people say I’m funny. Also a lot of people say I’m smart and that’s what a couple of the mouse’s friends are. I think you would like this book if you are into other books like Harry Potter.

Terrible Two by Mac Barnett and Jory John

The Terrible Two by Jory John and Mac Barnett is about a boy named Miles who moves to a new town called Yawnee Valley. It begins as a normal story but then it tells us about his old school and how he was the school's big prankster. It also tells about how miserable Miles was to move to a new town.

My most favorite character in this book is principal Barkin. He is my favorite because he is an angry man who always has something crazy he gets himself into. I also like the part where the principal parked on the stairs and made all the students go into the school through his car to get in.

This book reminds me of the times I had to move and it was hard because I had so many memories from there. The hardest part was not being able to see my friends because we were in different cities. I would always be very silent and shy. Then I got used to the school and I'm not as shy as I was before and now have a lot of friends who I can relate to, which makes me more comfortable.

Review by Aaliyah

Terrible Two by Mac Barnett  is about a boy named Miles. In his old school, he was known as a pranking legend. Now that he’s moving to boring Yawnee Valley, he hopes to be his new school’s prankster there. But there’s already a prankster, and he’s REALLY good.

I can really relate to Miles in this book. I LOVE to prank my sister, and…. I sometimes get pranked myself. I hope you will like the book.

Dork Diaries, Tales from a Not-so-Graceful Ice Princess by Rachel Renee Russell

Dork Diaries, Tales from a Not-so-Graceful Ice Princess by Rachel Renee Russell is really dramatic and funny. Nikki’s friend Brian asked her to come to his party and all the tables start turning when Nikki has to learn how to skate. It’s going to be a struggle. Nikki’s little sister Brianna makes things worse. If you want to know what’s going to  happen, read this amazing book!

I really connected to this book because I think that Rachel Renee Russell’s books are really great and exciting to read! It made me smile and laugh and I think anyone who read it would feel the same way. She’s my favorite book author.

BabyMouse Queen of the World by Jennifer L. Holm

BabyMouse Queen of the World by Jennifer L. Holm is the perfect book if you don’t like to read a lot. The book is so fun,and easy to read because it’s also a comic book!  BabyMouse is a good character to read about because she is very relatable and funny. By reading the book it can turn a very bad day into a great day, but the best part is, it is very short, so it’s fast to read. Baby Mouse's enemy is Felicia Furrypaws. They have a lot of wars with each other.

I love this book and I really love animals! It is a great book for people who like graphic novels without a lot of words. I liked and chose this book because it is very interesting and fun to read. I could read a whole series in one day, it is that good. I couldn’t read another book that is so funny and relatable. Have you ever been in a situation where you had to choose between hanging with the popular kids or with your best friend? Then this is the right book for you! Baby Mouse is just like regular people, that’s why I fell in love with her from the first book.

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein has poems and rhymes.  You’ll have a good time when you read this book. There are  a lot of poems. I read a lot of them, but I did not get close to reading all of them.

I like Shel Silverstein books because they are funny. The writing and pictures are hilarious. My favorite poem is “Ickle me pickle me tickle me too”.
I like this book because it’s funny.

Bad Guys in Do-You-Think-He-Saurus? by Aaron Blabey

The Bad Guys in Do-You-Think-He-Saurus  is about 5 heroes, Mr. Wolf, Mr. Shark, Mr. Snake, Mr. Tarantula, and Mr. Piranha, who try to get back to the present. They get blasted into the past while trying to save the world from aliens! My favorite character is Mr. Shark because he’s good at disguises! My favorite scene is when the “Bad Guys'' go into the portal.

I love this book because of its hilariousness. The characters have a funny character design. I love it when Mr. Wolf says that the velociraptors can’t see him, even though they can. I also loved when Mr. Snake threw a rock at a poor velociraptor. Another part I liked was when Mr. Shark dressed up as a tree and Mr. Wolf was talking a lot, so the velociraptors found them. That reminds me of when I'm in my classroom and one person starts talking, everyone does! Anyways, I think you should read this awesome, hilarious Graphic Novel by Aaron Blabey!

Review by: The Enchanter

Bad Guys in Do-You-Think-He-Saurus? by Aaron Blabey is about the bad guys (good guys) who went back in time and got chased by dinosaurs. At the time period they’re supposed to be in, there is an ALIEN INVASION. When they had to come through a time portal back to their own time, they got something from the portal. But I won’t tell you what they got. It would ruin the story!

I love this book. It’s awesome and I’m not saying any more about the book because I want people to find out what happens, or what almost happens the second time. I just started the book, but I’m already done. Graphic novels are quick to read. Have fun.

Big Nate Game On! by Lincoln Pierce

I really like the book Big Nate Game On! by Lincoln Pierce, because it’s a graphic novel series and the character is funny. Big Nate Game On is all about sports, but it's not necessarily in order. For instance there was one event where a boy named Arthur is very lucky and Nate doesn't like him. He became first chair in chess instead of Nate. He even became a couple with Nate’s crush.

Nate plays basketball, baseball, and soccer. In baseball, Nate’s team has an embarrassing name. He plays left field, but he always says that there is no action in left field. In soccer, Nate plays as goalie, but when he makes a save he always gets hits in the face and gets hurt. In basketball, Nate always needs his lucky socks in his warm ups and games or else he he will lose. He likes to roast the other players.  Read the book and I think you‘ll agree it's funny.

Big Nate: In a Class by Himself by Lincoln Peirce

Big Nate is an awesome series by Lincoln Peirce, but I particularly like In a Class by Himself, because I find it funnier and more relatable than the other books. Nate starts off thinking there's a test, and if he fails it, he’ll end up in summer school! Here's the thing, he forgot all his notes at school! When he gets to school it turns out that he worried for nothing because there's no test and, he forgot his lunch! So his friend, Teddy, offers to share his lunch, which was Chinese food, and hands Nate a fortune cookie. Nate opens it, thinking it will be something silly, but it turns out to say something way more than that. What did it say? It said that he will surpass all others, but I think Nate took it a little to far. The rest of the day does not go according to plan. But by the end of the day Nate did it! He surpassed all others! How? I guess you'll have to read the book to find out!

Like I said before, I think that the Big Nate series is awesome, but I particularly like this one because I feel it's more funny and relatable than the others! This book kind of reminded me of some real life situations. I also like the colors on the cover on the book, I think they're eye-appealing and pretty. And the tittle is clever, given the events in the book. I really enjoyed this book, I hope you do too!

Dog Man: Unleashed by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man: Unleashed by Dav Pilkey was a very funny and humorous book. First, it was Chief’s birthday and Dog Man didn't get get him a gift! He went out to the pet store and got Chief a fish. The other police officers got Chief brain dots, (a fake medication to make you smarter.) Chief put his fish in a bowl, on a table, next to the brain dots. As he was leaving he knocked the brain dots over into the fish bowl! The fish thought it was food and ate it. The fish ate so much, that he got so smart, he could move things with his mind! He escaped with his mind powers, and turned EVIL! Read this book to find out if dog man saves the day, or, if he can't, AND THE FISH TAKES OVER THE WORLD!

I decided to read this book because it was a book that my friends suggested. I suggest you read it too. My friends said it was funny and it sure is, and they said it was the second book in the series. I read the first book, so I read this one. It did not disappoint.

Cilla Lee Jenkins, Future Author Extraordinaire by Susan Tan

Cilla Lee Jenkins, Future Author Extraordinaire by Susan Tan  is about a girl named Priscilla who is half Chinese and half American.  She is soon expecting a baby sister.  She doesn't want a sister because she thinks that her parents won’t pay attention to her anymore.  Her best friend is named Colleen, but they got into a fight.  Cilla’s favorite book is called Selena Moon And The Moonstone.  When it’s Cilla’s birthday she gets a very cool gift and everyone puts their hand print on it, but Cilla saves one section for her sister.  When her baby sister is born Cilla loves her even though she thought she wouldn’t.

I love this book! It reminds me of me and my brother because we didn’t want a little sister. Now we have one, but she’s not so little anymore, and we love her.  In the book the same thing happens. I’ve read this book 4 times and I still love it.  I can’t wait to get the second and third!  Maybe when MY sister learns to read she can read it for herself.  This is by far one of my favorite books.  If you like to read, write, and have fun, then I think this is the perfect book for you!

The Temple of The Ruby of Fire by Geronimo Stilton

The Temple of The Ruby of Fire by Geronimo Stilton is about Geronimo Stilton who is helping his friend, who is a scientist. He is helping him find an Incan Temple. It’s a mystery because Geronimo, Thea, Trap, and Benjamin are trying to find the temple of the ruby of fire. They try to find where the ruby is but some bad guys are trying to find it too! I can’t tell you the ending because you wouldn’t want to read it!

I like to read books by this author because most of his stories are funny and have just the right amount of mystery. What’s funny about it is that in one part of the book Geronimo gets seasick easily, and he throws up when he was on professor Paws Von Volt’s submarine. If you like mice and adventure this book would be perfect for you!

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson

The plot of Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson, is about a boy named Rafe Khatchadorian. Rafe is going through middle school, which as you can tell by the title does not go very well for him.  Rafe is a very artistic kid that was born into a family with an annoying, nosey sister named Georgia, a loving and caring mom named Jules, and a mean, nasty, and sloppy dad that he calls Bear. Rafe has a plan that is an acronym for Rafe (rules aren't for everyone). Rafe’s plan is to try to break every rule in one year. Will he be able to do it or will he fail?

I loved this book. I really like the author’s imagination, and the outrageous characters. When reading the book you should really take your time to understand the characters and look at the pictures. Most readers will be around middle school age, but they will still find how true and funny this book is. If I had to rate this book I would give it a good 9, because although it's an amazing book, like any book it has its’ flaws, but those flaws are really tiny and you should still read the book.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney is about a kid named Greg and he is getting made fun of by his older brother Rodrick . Between this and him starting middle school, his life is getting out of hand .
I like this book because I have read a lot of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. I am a little nervous about going to middle school just like Greg. I like the fact that this book seems like a kid wrote it. This is a really good book, you should read it. Review by aperson98

Greg Heffley is having a tough time getting along with his brothers Manny and Rodrick. Mr and Mrs Heffley decide to leave them home for the weekend alone. Then Roderick decides to throw a party. Will their parents find out? Will Greg and Rodrick become friends, or will they forever be enemies? Find out in Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney.
I think that the book was really interesting. There are a lot of funny, sad and happy events that take place. The book has a ton of funny characters and is nonstop with action. My favorite event is when Greg got locked in the basement. It reminds me of when I got locked in my basement once. The story has a combination of events one after the other. I think that this is a great book and I prefer that you read it. Those are some of my thoughts on the book.

The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney is a book about a kid named Greg that goes on a terrible road trip with his family. In the book the Heffley’s go on a terrible road trip that Greg's mom planned. There was not enough space so Greg was squished in the back and with not a lot of space who knows what will happen?

I’ve only read this book and the first book, and these two books made me want to read the rest of the book in the series. But The Long Haul will be my favorite book because it's about a  road trip  that goes horribly wrong. The book made me think about times when me and my brother fight. It’s like I’m greg and my brother is Rodrick. My brother always used to kick me off of xbox. I also love this book because I’ve also watched all the movies and I like to compare them and see what's different .

The book Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney is about Greg Heffley, who goes on a road trip to Disney World. The story takes place inside his family's car. In the middle of the story they even get a pig. The characters are Greg, Rodrick, mom, dad, Rowley, and Manney. When they go in the car, it turns out to be a bad car ride. Read the book to find out what happens.

My thoughts and feelings are that this book was good, but I’ve read only one book, then this one.  I wanted to read this book because I’ve been on a long car ride to New York and it was bad.  Also I wanted to read this book because I thought the first one I ever read was funny, so I wanted to read this one. This book was more of a problem book, but also a funny book at the same time. I thought this book was unique.

The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney is about a kid named Gregory who is going on a road trip with his family. There is not a lot of room so there will be some problems along the way to their destination. They make some stops that might become trouble. This road trip might be the last one they want to have. With all the bad luck coming their way they might end the vacation before it even starts.

I liked this book because this is kind of like my life. In my family there is not a lot of room in the car, it takes a long time to get to the place we want to go, but in the end, we all have fun and we end up forgetting what happened a few hours ago.
