Dog Man by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man and Cat Kid by Dav Pilkey is a book about when Dog Man comes back to town, not alone, but with a furry feline called Cat Kid. They came at the right time. Dog Man needs to help when a new Kitty sitter comes to town and a glamorous movie starlet goes missing. Will Dog man and Cat Kid find the new Kitty sitter or will they never find the glamorous movie starlet.

Personally I like this book because it is a graphic novel. I also like Dog Man because it has some adventure. I like pictures and the author of this series of books has a lot of detail in his pictures. I like the the characters that he makes, because they have good personalities.

Review by PizzaGuy12345

Dog Man and Cat Kid was written and illustrated by Dav Pilkey. Dog Man is a graphic novel about Dog Man. He adopted a kitten named Lil Petey who was on the streets because,  (by the way Lil Petey is a clone) his creator Petey left for the bathroom.

Anyway it's a good book. I really enjoyed it. It was funny. It's a comic/graphic novel, but with chapters. My cousins, one is 13 and the other is 24, they love it. This book is for people of all ages.

Dog Man the Lord of the Fleas by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man the Lord of the Fleas by Dav Pilkey is about a cat who is in cat prison. He has escaped 6/7 times. A doctor comes to see him and it turns out to be a friend that used to be in a group called Critter Scouts. Piggy is trying to get revenge on Petey the cat, who is evil. Piggy is trying to get revenge on Petey because he erased his badges. Petey’s badges were erased too. Petey will have a decision to make. Will he try to change and be a hero, or will he be the same old evil cat he always was? Find out in the story, Dog Man the Lord of the Fleas.

I have a connection with the book because it was funny in a lot of ways. It was a cool book, and it had cool characters. The book was a graphic novel and I like comic books. It was also a very creative book and it was a good story.

Rise of the Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz

In Rise of the Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz, King Triton’s trident is lost underwater. Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay have to find the magical trident so no one else does. If someone else has the trident they can take over the oceans and probably the world.

I think it´s a great book and a good way to pass the time. It’s interesting because it’s about the ocean and I like oceans. What I like about the book is that it is unique and part of the Descendants series.

The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King

In the Kingdom of Delain Peter is soon to become king with his father soon to be dead and Peter as the eldest child, or will his destiny be ruined by the castle magician who will do anything to make the younger son Thomas king? Will the magician even frame someone for murder? Read The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King to find out.
My thoughts on the book are that the book has a very well written plot and that the book itself is well written. My favorite character in the book is Peter mostly because he is so smart and daring at the same time. Then another reason why I like this book is because it has a lot of funny moments. One funny moment that I liked was when Peter beat up the prison guard with ease.
My connection with the book is my relationship with my younger brother. Mostly because me and my little brother are really close as brothers. Another connection with the book is I remember climbing up and down a rope for the first time, because in the book Peter tries to escape prison on a rope.

The Land of Stories- Worlds Collide by Christopher Colfer

In The Land of Stories: Worlds Collide by Christopher Colfer, Alex and Conner have constructed an army to defeat all of the literary characters of their childhood, lead by Captain Hook, The Wicked Witch of the West, and The Queen of Hearts. Right as they were heading off to defeat the army, Alex went missing. When Conner finds Alex, she is under an evil spell. Will Conner save Alex or will he be defeated?

I loved how the author painted a vivid image in my mind when I read this book. It all came together no matter how many cliff hangers or how many mysteries there were. When you read this book you will be swept away to a fairy-tale land where danger and magic are in the air. When I was little and still to this day I love fairy tales! This book made me feel happy, scared, and sad all at the same time. If you love fairy tales definitely read this book! I definitely recommend this book and series! Hope you read it!

Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk

Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk is a 2017 Newbery honor book and so it was on my must read list. The story is set in Pennsylvania farm country, which is where I grew up. The main character's name is Annabelle and she is 12 year's old. It is 1943 and Annabelle goes to school in a one room school house with her two little brothers. Everything is fine until a girl named Betty moves in with her grandparents and starts at the school with Annabelle. Betty turns out to be a mean, violent bully and Annabelle has to try and protect her brothers and herself from Betty's threats.

This story was very suspenseful. Betty is a scary, violent bully and the author does a great job at pacing the book to heighten the tension. There is another character with whom Annabelle and Betty interact. His name is Toby. He is a war veteran who lives alone in the hills and doesn't really talk much to anyone. Because of the rumors Betty spreads about Toby, when she turns up missing Toby is blamed for her disappearance. Annabelle can't believe Toby would hurt anyone, but she's not sure. She needs more time to figure it all out. You will race through the pages of this book with your heart pounding! I know I did!

Teachers this would be a great read aloud and discussion book.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is a book written by J.K. Rowling.  It is about a boy named Harry Potter.  He needs to defeat Voldemort.  But Harry must go through a bunch of challenges with Hermione and Ron. Halfway through the story Harry and Voldemort meet face to face.  Voldemort told Harry that the next time we meet you’re going to lose.  This is the last book of Harry Potter.  Sadly I did not read all the series.  I like to use magic tricks in every way I can to try to make people laugh.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is written by J.K. Rowling. This book takes place in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Quirrell wants to get the “Sorcerer’s Stone” from Harry Potter to conquer the world. Quirrell and Harry continue to fight over and over again. Quirrell gets the stone, then goes out of the area and sets fire around the area with his wand. The fire then goes out, and Quirrell gets knocked down. Harry gets the stone. When Quirrell touches Harry, Quirrell burns to ashes. This is because Harry has the Sorcerer’s Stone. Harry was also given protection from his mother. If you want to know more about the book, why not read it?
I thought the book was very good, but if you watch the movie then you could see what would happen. Remember, the book and the movie are different from each other. The movie shows what's happening, but the book tells more detail. Since the book has more detail you could picture the scenes instead of just watching the movie. So if I were you, I would read the book first before you watch the movie.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling starts off the adventure in this amazing 7 part series. On Harry’s 11th birthday he finds out he’s a wizard, what happened when he was a baby, and how his parents died.  He also finds out how he will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry meets two other wizards and becomes friends with them, their names are Ron and Hermione.  Harry learns about the most loved wizard sport Quiddich. This is a great good vs. evil book with magic. This book is very adventurous as well.  You can also read the other 6 books or watch the movies . I would definitely recommend this book to all of you muggles.
