Kristy’s Great Idea by Raina Telgemeier

Kristy’s Great Idea by Raina Telgemeier is a graphic novel based on the novel by Ann M. Martin, and part of The Baby-sitters Club series. The character in the book that is my favorite is Kristy. My favorite scene is when Kristy wants to start a babysitters club. Kristy has some friends, their names are Claudia, Mary, and Stacey . The plot of the book is the story starts in the beginning of 7th grade and at Claudia's house. The B.S.C. (or Baby Sitter Club) meetings  are in Claudia's room.

The reason I like this book is because there's a lot of friendship and babysitting. There is a show on Netflix with two seasons called The Baby - sitters club. The show is as good as the books. I think you should read the book, then watch the show.

Dog man Fetch-22 by Dav Pilkey

Dog man Fetch-22 by Dav Pilkey is a really fun book! There are a lot of plot twists! Like when an evil fish named Flippy was being mean, but then it turned into  a story that was made after one of the many other Dog Man books came out. It's also clever that at the beginning of the book the author  Dav Pilkey told us the real authors were two little kids named George and Harold. The main character is a dog/man which is why he is called dog man. There is a reason why he is half dog and half man. The story is in the front of every book.

I really liked this book when I was younger. I would say it's from a 2-3rd grade level book. The best part about it is that it's easy to read. All the Dog Man books are easy to read because they are graphic novels. I also like that every once and awhile there are jokes, and they are not corny, they are really good sometimes. The book reminds me of my auntie’s dog because all the men had connections to the dog, but none of the girls did.

Amulet 8: Supernova by Kazu Kibuishi

This is a book review about Amulet 8: Supernova by Kazu Kibuishi. This book is from a series of 9 books but right now there are 8. The ninth, and the final book in the Amulet series has not came out yet. Google says book 9 will come out October 25, 2022. The main character is Emily. She is the strongest character in the Amulet series. She is powerful because of an amulet she found in book 1. If you have not read book 1 yet, this is how she got the amulet. In The beginning, Emily’s dad died in a car crash. Then she moved into her great grandpas houes and found the amulet.

This book kind of reminds me of Ukraine and Russia because they're in a war and in the Amulet book series there's also a war going on. If you like action-packed fiction themed graphic novels with magical powers and wars, this is the book for you.

The Guardian of the Realm by Elisabetta Dami

The Guardian of the Realm by Elisabetta Dami writing under the pseudonym Geronimo Stilton is full of adventure, action, and comedy. There are many surprising moments, and unexpected twists and turns. There are many characters, animals, and other fantastical creatures. One of the surprising moments is when a HUGE sea snake comes from the water and the main character is terrified! Will he find a friend?

The events of The Guardian of the Realm reminded me of the first book in the series. I want to do exactly what they did in this book, like go to new places, explore, and much more. This is the 11th book in the series Of the Kingdom of Fantasy. For me, the title of the book expanded my imagination and beliefs.

Grime and Punishment by Dav Pilkey

Grime and Punishment by Dav Pilkey is part of the Dog Man series. So the main plot of the book is that the dog man is in big trouble and Petey’s dad gets out of cat jail and they have to stop him. I really liked the books. It was really funny and fun to read. My thoughts about this book are that when I first started reading it, I didn't like it. But after I read it for a little bit, I really liked it, because I like all the action. I just wish I could write a book.

This book is like Captain Underpants. My favorite character is obviously Dog Man, but I also kind of like Petey’s son because he is very funny. I don't feel like telling you guys my favorite scene because I don't want to spoil it. But if you want to hear, then keep reading, but if you don't, skip this. My favorite part is when Pete's father turns the bag into a human with the spray. This book is fiction and this is my book review. This book is a Graphic Novel.

Dog Man: Mothering Heights by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man: Mothering Heights by Dav Pilkey is about Dog Man, who has to go through the troubles of having a cone on his head. Lil’ Petey who keeps trying to keep Petey on his good side. As well as Petey who is trying to be on tv without any interruptions. All in all, all the characters have their own problems that they’re all going through.

I think that this book is really funny, has a lot of action and is easy for anyone to read. Although I do suggest that you should read all the other dog man books before you read this one. I really like this graphic novel series and I believe it is the best.

Guts by Raina Telgemeier

Guts by Raina Telgemeier is about a girl named Raina. The book tells about Raina's life. It starts off when she gets sick, but her mother also is sick. Raina is a shy, nervous child. She has one younger brother and one younger sister. When Raina comes home after a school day she goes to the bathroom and appears to be sick but she's not. The next day Raina’s mother brings her to the doctor but she is very healthy. So what is wrong?

Some of the things I liked in the book are how the author actually showed how people with anxiety and people who get panic attacks suffer, and how Raina's friends were supportive when she told them that she went to therapy.  This book reminds me of how people with panic attacks and anxiety actually suffer.

Review by:  Material Girl

The book that I chose is Guts. The author of this amazing story is Raina Telgemeier. I chose this book because I loved its pictures and its story. It's a graphic novel, the best type of book in my opinion. I read this in third grade, but you can read it in fourth. It's for third and fourth graders.

The story is about a girl in fifth-grade, called Raina. She is nervous about being an outcast. She has to go to a therapist, which makes her more nervous. Her bully makes fun of her every day and makes her think she is the only one going to therapy. Then she learns her friend is moving. Read the book to find out what happens!

Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Silver Eyes by Scott Cawthon

Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Silver Eyes by Scott Cawthon is about a group of friends sneaking into an old restaurant where there is a seemingly  abandoned set of animatronics, shut down due to horrible smells coming from inside the animatronics. Although they seem completely harmless and shut down, that's not the case. There's 2 versions of this book: the graphic novel and the regular chapter book. In my opinion the graphic novel is just a lot more informative, the other one is still pretty good too. But it's probably around 6-7th grade reading level. The graphic novel is a lot shorter, but it really shows all the scenes by using images.

I really liked this book when I read it. I don't usually read a lot but I read this book in around 4 hours. I would definitely recommend it to people as it has a lot of action and adventure (and story) . It has a good connection to the game it's based on, with all the animatronics in the correct spots they were in the game.

Allergic by Megan Wagner Lloyd and illustrated by Michelle Mee Nutter

Allergic by Megan Wagner Lloyd is a good book about allergies. By the cover, you can tell that she gets a dog in the story but is allergic to it. Also, she is annoyed that her parents are preparing for a baby. The main character's name is Maggie. Maggie and I are the same because we both have different allergies. We also are the same because we both have siblings . She has 2, soon to be 3 siblings, but I only have 1 sibling.

I like this book because it is realistic fiction. I also like this book because it is a Graphic Novel and it has good pictures and details. You should go read Allergic.

Camp Midnight by Steven T. Seagle

Camp Midnight by Steven T. Seagle is about a girl named Skye. Her dad and evil stepmother send her to a camp called Camp Midnight. On the creepy dark bus she meets a girl named Mia. When she picks a bunk bed and starts to fall asleep, someone starts screaming midnight snack. Skye finds out, that at this camp they stay up all night. Then out of nowhere they all turn into monsters, but not Skye and Mia, or do they?

I like this book because it’s a cool book and this color choice is different and weird. It perfectly blends the creepy with the humorous. I think people that like weird books or graphic novels would like this book.

Review by #DogsRTheBest

Camp Midnight by Steven T. Seagle and Jason Adam Katzenstein is the book that I'm reading. It is for 7-11 year olds. So if you are around those ages, it might be for you. It’s fiction by the way. The book is about ghosts and demons and there is a little girl who's the main character. Her mom is evil because she is a monster or a demon.

It is an amazing book! She feels lonely and does not have a lot of friends. I can relate to her because I get left a lot and I do not have a lot of friends, so that's how I relate to the book . It’s a really good book. I love it and I hope you will too!

BabyMouse Queen of the World by Jennifer L. Holm

BabyMouse Queen of the World by Jennifer L. Holm is the perfect book if you don’t like to read a lot. The book is so fun,and easy to read because it’s also a comic book!  BabyMouse is a good character to read about because she is very relatable and funny. By reading the book it can turn a very bad day into a great day, but the best part is, it is very short, so it’s fast to read. Baby Mouse's enemy is Felicia Furrypaws. They have a lot of wars with each other.

I love this book and I really love animals! It is a great book for people who like graphic novels without a lot of words. I liked and chose this book because it is very interesting and fun to read. I could read a whole series in one day, it is that good. I couldn’t read another book that is so funny and relatable. Have you ever been in a situation where you had to choose between hanging with the popular kids or with your best friend? Then this is the right book for you! Baby Mouse is just like regular people, that’s why I fell in love with her from the first book.

Dog Man by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man and Cat Kid by Dav Pilkey is a book about when Dog Man comes back to town, not alone, but with a furry feline called Cat Kid. They came at the right time. Dog Man needs to help when a new Kitty sitter comes to town and a glamorous movie starlet goes missing. Will Dog man and Cat Kid find the new Kitty sitter or will they never find the glamorous movie starlet.

Personally I like this book because it is a graphic novel. I also like Dog Man because it has some adventure. I like pictures and the author of this series of books has a lot of detail in his pictures. I like the the characters that he makes, because they have good personalities.

Review by PizzaGuy12345

Dog Man and Cat Kid was written and illustrated by Dav Pilkey. Dog Man is a graphic novel about Dog Man. He adopted a kitten named Lil Petey who was on the streets because,  (by the way Lil Petey is a clone) his creator Petey left for the bathroom.

Anyway it's a good book. I really enjoyed it. It was funny. It's a comic/graphic novel, but with chapters. My cousins, one is 13 and the other is 24, they love it. This book is for people of all ages.

Bad Guys in Do-You-Think-He-Saurus? by Aaron Blabey

The Bad Guys in Do-You-Think-He-Saurus  is about 5 heroes, Mr. Wolf, Mr. Shark, Mr. Snake, Mr. Tarantula, and Mr. Piranha, who try to get back to the present. They get blasted into the past while trying to save the world from aliens! My favorite character is Mr. Shark because he’s good at disguises! My favorite scene is when the “Bad Guys'' go into the portal.

I love this book because of its hilariousness. The characters have a funny character design. I love it when Mr. Wolf says that the velociraptors can’t see him, even though they can. I also loved when Mr. Snake threw a rock at a poor velociraptor. Another part I liked was when Mr. Shark dressed up as a tree and Mr. Wolf was talking a lot, so the velociraptors found them. That reminds me of when I'm in my classroom and one person starts talking, everyone does! Anyways, I think you should read this awesome, hilarious Graphic Novel by Aaron Blabey!

Review by: The Enchanter

Bad Guys in Do-You-Think-He-Saurus? by Aaron Blabey is about the bad guys (good guys) who went back in time and got chased by dinosaurs. At the time period they’re supposed to be in, there is an ALIEN INVASION. When they had to come through a time portal back to their own time, they got something from the portal. But I won’t tell you what they got. It would ruin the story!

I love this book. It’s awesome and I’m not saying any more about the book because I want people to find out what happens, or what almost happens the second time. I just started the book, but I’m already done. Graphic novels are quick to read. Have fun.

Recess Warriors: Hero is a Four Letter Word by Marcus Emerson

I enjoyed Recess Warriors: Hero is a Four Letter Word by Marcus Emerson because of the imagination and adventure that the story shows. It's based on the adventures of Scrap, aka Bryce the main character. It explains what happens at recess at Armstrong Elementary school. The story-line changes every chapter. Everything happens during their recess. Although they are playing and pretending, the story makes it seem as if it were all real.

The art is amazing and some of the best style I’ve seen in a graphic novel.  The comedy is great, it reminds me of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. There are truly great character designs and the cover design is nice and colorful. It's a world filled with imagination where girls are power hungry pirates and zombies take over the school. Anything can happen in this world and that's why I love this book and I'm sure you’ll like it too.

The Baby Sitters Club Kristy Ann Saves The Day by Raina Telgemeier

The Baby Sitters Club: Kristy Ann Saves The Day by Raina Telgemeier based on the novel by Ann M. Martin, is about a babysitters club who were all best friends and then got into a fight. It takes place in a school, and in a bunch of different houses. When they got in a fight they didn't speak for a very long time but they didn't want anybody to think anything was suspicious, so they acted like they were not in a fight. At the end they ended up adding a new member to the group named Dawn. She was a very nice girl who loved kids.

I like this book because it is interesting and a very good book, I really enjoyed reading this book. My favorite part of the book was when they got back to being best friends. I think in conclusion that this is an amazing graphic novel and is one of a series of books.

Dog Man: Unleashed by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man: Unleashed by Dav Pilkey was a very funny and humorous book. First, it was Chief’s birthday and Dog Man didn't get get him a gift! He went out to the pet store and got Chief a fish. The other police officers got Chief brain dots, (a fake medication to make you smarter.) Chief put his fish in a bowl, on a table, next to the brain dots. As he was leaving he knocked the brain dots over into the fish bowl! The fish thought it was food and ate it. The fish ate so much, that he got so smart, he could move things with his mind! He escaped with his mind powers, and turned EVIL! Read this book to find out if dog man saves the day, or, if he can't, AND THE FISH TAKES OVER THE WORLD!

I decided to read this book because it was a book that my friends suggested. I suggest you read it too. My friends said it was funny and it sure is, and they said it was the second book in the series. I read the first book, so I read this one. It did not disappoint.

Dog Man the Lord of the Fleas by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man the Lord of the Fleas by Dav Pilkey is about a cat who is in cat prison. He has escaped 6/7 times. A doctor comes to see him and it turns out to be a friend that used to be in a group called Critter Scouts. Piggy is trying to get revenge on Petey the cat, who is evil. Piggy is trying to get revenge on Petey because he erased his badges. Petey’s badges were erased too. Petey will have a decision to make. Will he try to change and be a hero, or will he be the same old evil cat he always was? Find out in the story, Dog Man the Lord of the Fleas.

I have a connection with the book because it was funny in a lot of ways. It was a cool book, and it had cool characters. The book was a graphic novel and I like comic books. It was also a very creative book and it was a good story.

Dog Man by Dav Pilkey

In the book Dog Man by Dav Pilkey, George and Harold are thinking of a new comic to write and they come up with dog man. Dog Man is part human and part dog. He turned into this because he was hunting a criminal with his human friend and the criminal set down dynamite and blew them up. The doctors said the only way he would survive is if they put the dog’s head on the human’s body. Dog Man fights crime with his super sense and he also has super strength.

I thought this book was funny and fun to read. It is a graphic novel. The pictures are meant to look like a 9 year old drew them, because George and Harold are 9 and 8. And did you know that Dav Pilkey wrote the Captain Underpants books?

Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier

Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier is about a girl who is sick. Her name is Maya and her family had moved to California. Maya has an older sister and her name is Catrina, but some people call her Cat for a nickname. When they moved, Catrina and Maya went for a walk. They went to the beach. Then they saw an arcade and Catrina lost Maya. When she went to find her, she saw that she was playing with a ghost. Catrina told her to come to her, but Maya did not. Instead she started coughing because she was sick. Will Maya be okay?

I like this book because it is funny and it is one of my favorite books. I think it is also a little sad, because the girls see all their grandparents who are now ghosts. I also like it because it is about a Day of the Dead celebration, which is the day after Halloween, and that is one of my favorite holidays. But otherwise it is a really good book.

I thought this book was amazing. It made me feel like I was in the book imagining stuff but I wasn't in the pictures. I recommend you read this book because it is inspiring. It´s inspiring because it made me think about getting along with my sister and I thought, “Oh, I don’t really get along with my sister! I should really be happy for what I have.” That´s what I think about the book. I really like it, and I think you will too.
