The Guardian of the Realm by Elisabetta Dami

The Guardian of the Realm by Elisabetta Dami writing under the pseudonym Geronimo Stilton is full of adventure, action, and comedy. There are many surprising moments, and unexpected twists and turns. There are many characters, animals, and other fantastical creatures. One of the surprising moments is when a HUGE sea snake comes from the water and the main character is terrified! Will he find a friend?

The events of The Guardian of the Realm reminded me of the first book in the series. I want to do exactly what they did in this book, like go to new places, explore, and much more. This is the 11th book in the series Of the Kingdom of Fantasy. For me, the title of the book expanded my imagination and beliefs.

Return of the Vampire, by Geronimo Stilton

The book I will review for the blog is Return of the Vampire, by Geronimo Stilton. I like this book because it is funny in some parts. In this book Creepella Von CackleFur, her niece, and Geronimo Stilton have to go to this hotel. Then something happens, a vampire shows up. And he asks for help. Do you think that they will help the vampire? I also like this book because Geronimo Stilton is a good author and it reminds me of my childhood when I was a little kid.

The Enchanted Charms by Geronimo Stilton

The Enchanted Charms by Geronimo Stilton is a very cool book about MAGIC and GIANTS and MICE and even MONSTERS! The book is about a mouse that goes and tries to get these charms that are all in different parts of the world. When he gets them...  well I shouldn’t tell you because that's the ending of  the book but you can read it and figure that out for yourself.

This book relates to me because the mouse and the mouse's cousin are funny and a lot of people say I’m funny. Also a lot of people say I’m smart and that’s what a couple of the mouse’s friends are. I think you would like this book if you are into other books like Harry Potter.

The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo

Today I will be sharing with you The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. The Tale of Despereaux is a very unique book. It is about a mouse and a rat that both want to get to the light. The rat is supposed to be in the darkness (the dungeon), but is hoping to get to the light (upstairs in the castle). Then he falls in a soup and almost gets caught, but runs back down to the darkness. On the other hand, Despereaux, the mouse breaks the rules by talking to a human princess and gets put in the dungeon darkness. This mouse loves to listen to music and stories. The Princess Pea gets put in the darkness by the vengeful rat. Will all three of them work together to get out?

I liked this book because I like animals. I also hate it when animals are hurt or when they are endangered. I feel like this book is also cool and has some new words that I did not know. The author, Kate DiCamillo, is also my favorite author and this is one of my favorite books by her.

The Temple of The Ruby of Fire by Geronimo Stilton

The Temple of The Ruby of Fire by Geronimo Stilton is about Geronimo Stilton who is helping his friend, who is a scientist. He is helping him find an Incan Temple. It’s a mystery because Geronimo, Thea, Trap, and Benjamin are trying to find the temple of the ruby of fire. They try to find where the ruby is but some bad guys are trying to find it too! I can’t tell you the ending because you wouldn’t want to read it!

I like to read books by this author because most of his stories are funny and have just the right amount of mystery. What’s funny about it is that in one part of the book Geronimo gets seasick easily, and he throws up when he was on professor Paws Von Volt’s submarine. If you like mice and adventure this book would be perfect for you!

Poppy by Avi

Poppy by Avi is a fable, fiction, adventure book.  If you like reading adventure books, this is a book you should read.  It makes you want to never stop reading it.  The main characters are Poppy a mouse, Mr. Ocax an owl, and Ereth the porcupine.  Poppy and Ereth are nice animals, but Mr. Ocax is mean.  This book has a lot of twists and turns, but in the end it makes you want to read it again.

Young Fredle by Cynthia Voight

Young Fredle by Cynthia Voight is a sweet book about a little kitchen mouse.  Poor Fredle (rhymes with metal) eats too much chocolate and gets kicked out of the nest because he's sick.  This is where Fredle's adventures begin.    As the reader you get to discover the world through Fredle's eyes, as he sees grass, and birds, and the stars for the first time.  Much of the world is very dangerous for a fat little kitchen mouse, so Fredle has to learn quickly how to survive without his family to rely on.  My favorite character in the book is Sadie.  She's one of the two dogs that live in Fredle's house.  She is ditsy and funny, and becomes a good friend to Fredle.  I'll bet you love her too!

Poppy and Ereth by Avi

Poppy and Ereth by Avi is both fantasy and fable.  Poppy and Ereth live in the Dimwood Forest.  This book is about Poppy and Ereth going on an adventure to find the right climate to live in, because in the Dimwood Forest there is a huge snowstorm.  I like this book because the author’s message is to tell people that everyone has feelings, even animals. I love this book because it has a lot of voice and it’s about animals. The mood is exciting, sad, and even a little scary.  I would recommend this book to young readers through 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
