Hundred Percent by Karen Romano Young

Hundred Percent by: Karen Romano Young. Tink and Jackie hate middle school drama. Jackie, the drama queen gets into fights and tries all kinds of ways to get out of them, but just makes it worse. Tink tries to help, but Jackie doesn’t listen. Will Jackie get out of the middle school fights? Read on to find out what they will do to battle the crazy and hectic 6th grade drama. It is problematic.
I love this book. The pictures, the people and the setting are realistic. The book teaches you never to worry about problems that may happen as a 6-7th grader. This book is mature. Some language may not be for a young child. This book has a great star rating from me it is 3.64. Middle school may be difficult but try until you succeed.

Ungifted by Gordon Korman

Ungifted by Gordon Korman is a funny cause and effect story.  Ungifted was a RICBA nominee in 2014.  Read it to find out what happens when Donovan, an impulsive likable main character, whacks a statue's butt.  Events are sent "rolling" as Donovan tries to keep from getting into trouble.  The humor of this book lies in the author's ability to keep Donovan dodging, as he tries to avoid one kind of problem or another.  Korman is the author of Swindle and Zoobreak.  Ungifted is similar to each of those books, and like them, it is centered on a group of students trying to navigate the adult world of rules.  Read and enjoy!

This is the first book in the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard. I would recommend this book to a lot of people. I personally loved this book! You will not find this book in our school library.

Swindle by Gordon Korman

Swindle is written by Gordon Korman who made a series of Swindle books including Zoobreak, Framed, Showoff, and Hideout.  Griffin Bing is very lucky. He always has a plan. He is the man with the plan. What if his luck is coming to an end? He is about to move away from his friends, until Ben and Griffin go to a sleepover at a creepy house and find a rare Babe Ruth baseball card. But when they go to S. Wendell to trade it in for money, they get swindled.  Now they will make a team to try to get it back. But there is one problem, a guard dog named Luthor who is very scary. Will the man with a plan move away? Will they get it back? I think this a great book for people who like mystery. They work as a team with muscle, a dog whisperer, an actor, a computer geek, a rock wall climber, a side kid and the man with a plan.

The main characters in the story, Swindle by Gordon Korman, are Griffin Bing, Ben the dog, Dad, and coach Nimiz.  I like the dog because I’m a HUGE DOG LOVER.  But they don’t know that Ben the dog talks.  At times he acts like a normal dog, but he talks to himself in his head.  One of the main things that happened is when Griffin had a million dollar baseball card, but somehow someone stole the million dollar baseball card.  The author’s message is to inform you about things in particular, like the main thing that had happen in this story.  This book gives you an exciting feeling because you get into reading it and you want to read it more and more.  My connection to this book is that I love dogs and that is pretty much why I chose this book.  Would I recommend this book? “Yes.”

Dork diaries: Tales of a not so Fabulous Life by Rachel Renee

The book Dork diaries: Tales of a not so Fabulous Life by Rachel Renee, is about a girl named Nikki Maxwell who moves to a new school and thinks she does not fit in.  She meets friends named Chloe and Zoe and they like Nikki and they become best friends.  They help each other through everything, from problems about boys or grades, to how to ignore people who are laughing at Nikki, Chloe, and Zoe.  This was a funny book and a good book.  Nikki makes people laugh and so do I.  I would recommend this book for people who love a good laugh.

My book is Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life, by Rachel Renee Russell. The main characters are Nikki and Brandon. I like them because they are good in the story. There is a Halloween party and Brandon asks Nikki to the party. It’s a party at school. The theme of the story is fun, because they’re at a party and it’s Halloween. The author’s message is to have fun!  It does have sad moments but mostly happy, nervous and shy. Everyone should read it because most people like parties and yes, I would recommend this book.

Lemonade Mouth by Mark Peter Hughes

Lemonade Mouth by Mark Peter Hughes is a book about five high school students that lose a lemonade machine.  The students decide to make a band to try to raise the money to get the school to buy the machine back.  The group goes through a lot of family and social problems.  This book is very interesting and I promise you’ll be on the edge of your seat the whole time you are reading it.  It's just one of those books you can't put down.  This book involves romance, sadness, and there are some happy parts too.  I hope you get as much joy out of this book as I did!  They made this book into a movie too.

Emma Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree by Laura Tarshis

Emma Jean Lazarus Fell Out of a Tree is a great book.  It is sad and happy, full of friendship and love. The main characters are Emma Jean, Mrs. Lazarus, Collen, Laura, Virkman and Will Keller.  Emma Jean gets herself involved in a problem that ends surprisingly.  The story takes place at Emma's school and home.  I think the author's message is that you should never get involved in other peoples' problems and to stand up to bullies.  Two words to describe this story are sad and exciting.  I would recommend this book.  If you read this book, tell me if you like it or not.  Please comment below.

The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place by E.L. Konigsburg

The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place by E.L. Konigsburg is a story about a 12 year old girl named Margaret Rose.  When we first meet Margaret she is at summer camp.  Margaret is bullied and picked on at camp until her Uncles come to her rescue. What Margaret does not know is her Uncles have been dealing with some bullies of their own, and they're going to need Margaret's help just as much as she needed their help.  I really liked this book.  Margaret is such a gutsy strong character I could not help cheering her on.  I could tell you more about this book, but in Margaret's own words, "I prefer not to."  ; )  I guess you'll have to read it for yourself!

Zoobreak by Gordon Korman

Zoobreak by Gordon Korman is a sequel to Swindle, which I know some of you enjoyed a couple of years ago in 2007.  Here's a link to listen to Korman talking about Swindle and how he became a writer http://www.gordonkorman.com/.  In Zoobreak, the same children continue to take matters into their own hands.  Griffin, the planner of the group, jumps into action when his friend Savannah, spots her missing monkey at a sleazy small animal zoo.  I love how Griffin breaks down their problems and plans a solution.  Except of course, it's not that easy because the problems keep multiplying.
