Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is a book written by J.K. Rowling.  It is about a boy named Harry Potter.  He needs to defeat Voldemort.  But Harry must go through a bunch of challenges with Hermione and Ron. Halfway through the story Harry and Voldemort meet face to face.  Voldemort told Harry that the next time we meet you’re going to lose.  This is the last book of Harry Potter.  Sadly I did not read all the series.  I like to use magic tricks in every way I can to try to make people laugh.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was written by J.K. Rowling.  This story is a fantasy about good wizards against evil named death eaters and their boss, Lord Voldemort.  The main characters in this story are Harry, Ron, and Hermione and they all have to defeat Voldemort .  This all happens at their school called Hogwarts.  I would recommend this book, it is sad but exciting.  A connection I made to this book is that Harry had to overcome a challenge.

Poppy by Avi

Poppy, by Avi, is a very interesting and exciting book about a little deer mouse on a big adventure to save her family and reputation.   When Poppy’s family grows too large to feed all the mice, her father, Lungwort, decides to ask the great, yet extremely dangerous owl, Mr. Ocax for permission to move to a new house.  Mr. Ocax denies the request because of Poppy.  She knows it was not her who led Mr. Ocax to this disappointing response and dares to go out into the forest on her own to save her family from starvation and her reputation as a good mouse.  I would strongly recommend this exciting book to a 5th-6th grader who loves adventure and animals.

Forgive My Fins, by Tera Lynn Childs

Forgive My Fins, by Tera Lynn Childs, is a book about a girl named Lily who has a huge crush on a swimmer named Brody, but something happens and now she’s stuck with Quince.  Lily is a mermaid, the princess of Thasslainia.  In this book, a mermaid can’t have a boyfriend then break up with him for no reason.  They have to go through a long separating routine that might not even work. The story takes place at school and in the ocean.  When I was little I used to pretend I was a mermaid when I was in the pool.  I think this book is funny and exciting.  When I first started the book I didn't really like it, but once I got to the middle of the book I loved it!  I would totally recommend this book to anyone who might like mermaids or drama.

Chad’s family bought a log cabin in the middle of a dark scary looking forest. Chad’s friend Jeanie tells him the cabin is haunted, and Chad gets a little scared. When Chad gets to the cabin some strange things happen. Weird sounds and events happen. When Chad and Jeanie find the ghost’s truck, even weirder sounds are heard and weirder events happen. I prefer this book over any other ghost story because it is so unique. It is so unique because of all of the events and character traits and the sounds and all of these scenes are well explained, this is an amazing book. Earthling by Mark Fearing

Earthling by Mark Fearing is a graphic novel.  Me and Bud, a character in the book, both like grilled cheese.  My favorite character is Gort because he is well drawn.  The author’s message is not to judge a book by its cover.  This book can be funny, sad, and exciting. The main event is that Bud got on the wrong bus and went to Cosmo Academy in space. I recommend this book because it was so good I read it in two days!

If you are interested in graphic novels, you will probably like this book. The name of the book is Earthling by Mark Fearing. The two main characters are Bud and Gort. Bud is an earthling and Gort is a friendlily alien. The problem was that Bud couldn’t get back to earth because he took the wrong bus. The book is very exciting and is entertaining too. Obviously it is fiction because aliens are not real. I recommend this book because I love graphic novels and it has action and adventure. P.S: Make sure you don’t take the wrong bus.  If you read it I hope you enjoy it.
