Okay so this book is about a boy named Dwight who makes an origami Yoda and all his friends think he is weird for doing that, except Tommy, who makes a paper Darth Vader.  One day Dwight gets in trouble with Yoda and might have to go to juvy.  When Tommy finds out what might happen he automatically thinks, “I need to stop this”.  So Tommy does everything he can to make Dwight not go.  I have no more to say, you need to read to find out what will happen to Dwight. Oh by the way, they’re making a trilogy to this book and I hope you read it.  The school library has this one and has the first book, Origami Yoda.  I just found out that Origami Yoda won the RICBA for 2012!

The Giver by Lois Lowry

The Giver by Lois Lowry is a great read, and keeps you wondering.  A boy named Jonas is selected to be the Receiver of Memory as his job for the community.  In this community there is no color, everything is the same, and everything is chosen for you, like what you do for a living and who you marry.  When you begin to have feelings for someone, which they call Stirrings, you have to take special pills so that way everything stays in order and you don’t fall in love with anyone.  Jonas meets his instructor and calls him Giver. Giver and Jonas don’t like sameness and hatch a plan to let everyone know what it’s like to have freedom.  Does their plan work?  Read to find out (;

I recommend The Giver by Lois Lowry. This book takes place in a community in the future with no war, no emotion, and no freedom. The Giver is about a boy named Jonas who was chosen to receive special training when he turned 12.  His job was supposed to be secret.  He cannot talk about his day with the Giver.  He will not be allowed to finish training if he did.  The Giver is a person who can see in the future and the past.  The Giver is very important to the community because when the council members can’t make an important decision, they ask the giver to look into the future.  If the Giver makes a bad decision or something goes wrong, the whole community fails.  Follow Jonas on his journey to become the next Giver.  I love this book; it’s sad, adventurous and exciting.  I give it five stars.  If you read this book it will make you cry.

In this story, Alan and Joe make a fifty dollar bet that Billy can’t eat fifteen worms.  He has to eat one worm each day for fifteen days.  Alan and Joe try to cheat in some ways, such as gluing two worms together.  On the fifteenth worm, Alan and Joe bring Billy to a baseball game. They drop him off at his house a couple minutes before midnight so he won’t have time to eat the last worm. I think you should read this book to find out if Billy does eat the worm before midnight. Michael Vey the Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans

Are you looking for a book of science fiction?  Well if you are stop right here.  Michael Vey the Prisoner of Cell 25 is its name and it is written by Richard Paul Evans.  Michael Vey is a fourteen year old boy who is considered very puny and weak by a big bully named Jack.  Michael changes, he becomes stronger and stronger every day.   I don’t mean muscles - I am talking about his special powers. Michael Vey has a special power.  What is it?  Michael also has a huge crush on a girl named Taylor Ridley, a star cheerleader.   She has a special power too.  Ostin, Michael’s best friend, is a freaky genius; however, his mom spelled Austin wrong, “Ostin”!   Later in the book they meet a man named Dr. Hatch.  I do not like him, because he is evil.  Richard Paul Evans’ message is good versus evil.   This is the book for you if you like people who are super heroes, but not in a comic book way.  This is a comedy, adventurous, thrilling, exciting book that takes place in Idaho in the first half and Pasadena, California in the second half.  Science fiction books remind me of a great imagination, when the author’s mind tells about what a world could be like.   All of a sudden Michael’s mom gets kidnapped and Michael gets captured and put into a cell.  Will Michael get out and save his mom??   I would highly recommend this book.   Remember that this book may not be available in your school library, but can be found at your public library.

       This book gave me the chills, but in an exciting way wanting to know what's next. I fell in love with the book in 2015 when I read it for the first time. I read it in my spare time during class and at home when I was bored in my room. I thought this book would be boring but you can’t  judge a book by its cover. If you don’t read the beginning or the end you will not get what is happening. When I read it the second time I accidently skipped a couple pages. I didn't get what was happening and that was my second time. I laughed out loud when I realized what I did. But, I truly love this amazing mystery book.

The book Deep and Dark and Dangerous by Mary Downing Hahn, is a horror book and also suspenseful. I enjoyed this book because something was always happening and you want to read on, but unfortunately I only had a certain amount of time to read it each day in class so I took it home and read a lot of it. One of my favorite characters is Sissy because she is mean and funny about everything.  That is a good thing, but also bad because you can get in trouble for being mean. Ali is the main character.  She has a little cousin named Emma, who is scared and has bad dreams about someone scary who her mom and aunt hung out with when they were little. This girl had a tragic accident and died. Read this book to find out what happened to the girl and what they do to prevent being haunted.

When these animals are brought into the shelter, they are not in good condition at all.  When dogs get brought into the shelter people who go to the shelter to adopt a dog want animals in good condition.  Dogs that get put up for adoption in bad condition don’t get adopted. But when people go to the shelter to see the dogs in this book, they feel really bad that they are not finding good homes. Since the people feel really bad, they give them a chance with their lives and these people bring them in. What really touches me is that there are really good people and they decide to be good to other people or even the animals that are here in this world. These animals are here for a reason and that reason is to make a difference in this crazy place we call Earth.
